Tour Description:

Our Dunns River Falls and Ocho Rios Highlights tour is a one of a kind experience that begins directly from your Ocho Rios/Runaway Bay resort or cruise ship pier.

We now embark on a scenic sightseeing drive through Jamaica’s famous rain forest, making optional stops along the way to purchase souvenirs or take pictures. Fern Gully is a scenic 3-mile stretch of Highway that winds through a rocky gorge filled with over 300 different varieties of ferns (Jamaica has the world's largest number of fern species) overhung by tall trumpet and mahoe trees that meet overhead filtering the sunlight to create a cool rain forest along the course of an old riverbed.

Our journey continues through local neighborhoods to Shaw Park Lookout (1500 ft. above sea level) for breathtaking views of Ocho Rios Bay and town.

Next up is Dunns River Falls; a refreshing spot where generations of visitors have been thrilled by the guided 600 ft. climb up the falls. For those who do not want to climb the falls, there are adjacent stairs where you can watch the action, take pictures and enjoy the splendor of this natural wonder.

We now finish the day at the "Taj Mahal" where you can unwind with a little duty free shopping, before returning to your ship or resort.

This tour also includes an optional stop at Island Village. Visit the renowned "Margaritaville" where Jimmy Buffett's "Parrothead" fans love to relax, listening to his beloved songs, while enjoying a water slide, private beach, rooftop whirlpool, regular pool, and of course, a swim-up bar for a variety of beverages. Margaritaville is an easy walk to your ship!

The only thing we did not find as good, was, that we had our tour together with 2 people from another tour, therefore we spent a lot of time in the traffic to go to the Dunns River Falls and back to our tour and than again to Dunns River Falls, that was the reason why we cancelled the lunch. We booked a private tour to Dunns River Falls and Sightseeing for seven of us. We chose the private tour so that we could have flexibility with our tour. The tour included me and my husband (50 years old), my elderly parents, my Aunt, and my brother and his partner. There was a bit of confusion when we arrived because they saw my mom in a wheelchair and they were concerned because they didn't seem to know we would have someone in a wheelchair. She can walk a bit, but requires oxygen. From the beginning, they were wonderful. They changed around our van to a larger van and provided us with a guide (as well as the driver) so that the guide could stay with my mom during our 'adventure'. This was all for no additional charge! The guide was Colleen and she was incredible. She was knowledgeable and FUN! None of our group intended on actually climbing the Falls, but with Colleen's encouragement, my husband and my brother did it! She sent us to go down a path to watch as she stayed up above and sat with my mom! Claude was the driver for our day and he was friendly and also very knowledgeable of Ocho Rios history The tour was a great way to spend the day in Ocho Rios and I would highly recommend it. If you're fortunate enough to get Colleen as your tour guide, well... that's a big bonus! The company went above and beyond to take care of us when they realized my mom's limited mobility! Our driver "Silva" was very good, informative and made us feel at ease in his company. Unfortunately we had been left on the cruise ship with no luggage, Silva was good enough to take us to a local shop to purchase some emergency clothing which we were very thankful for. Our trip to the Dunns River Falls started off very well, but unfortunately our bad luck carried on. My passport and mobile phone was badly damaged and my friend's camera too. From the moment Stacy ( our guide ) met us at the dock, our excursion was a five star very knowledgeable trip. Orlando ( our driver ) was as informative of the island as Stacy. The sights were awesome and breathtaking. We had an amazing experience with Jaital! We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise to Ochos Rios and wanted to try a company outside of the cruise line. Orlando and Stacy took us to the falls, and to do some shopping, and also brought us to an authentic Jamaican restaurant to try jerk chicken. My family ( Bajan/American in laws who have never been to Jamaica) and I went to Jamaica on a cruise. My plan was to get a taxi when we got off the boat and use that taxi for the day. As a Jamerican as I was so fondly dubbed by our driver Sylvan, I was ok with that. My family was not, and literally said they wouldn\'t get off the boat if that was the plan. They were being silly/ naive but to make everyone happy I went along with it and googled Jamaican tours and came across Jaital. I was hesitant at first about choosing the right tour but after daily communications with their customer service I felt confident in the choice and booked a personalized excursion for my family. I have never been happier in a choice. The \"personalized\" excursion ( I literally chose the things we wanted to do, some things not on their website) only cost $45 person but the experience was priceless.We arrived in Jamaica on our cruise and asked the security/guides at the gate for Jaital, they looked at my email confirmation and guided us in the right direction. Finding their location was not the easiest but it wasn\'t extremely difficult. When we arrived we were met by Stacy who was very sweet and friendly. We waited about ten minutes for our driver to arrive. Our driver was Sylvan. He was as amazing as the other reviews have said. He took us on a tour of the island, made personalized stops and literally made us feel like we were being driven around by a family member. My family loved it and expressed it many times. It was such a special feeling to share the experience and love that I always feel for Jamaica when I come home. I love Jamaica just for the fact that you can go and hang with a stranger, who will treat you like family, for the day. Our excursion to Jamaica was fabulous, our guide Sylvan was amazing. He told the story of his country along our tour, we met the local spice guy, enjoyed some fresh fruits, say some of the local street performers and breathtaking views. He took groups picture for us, told us how to deal with the local that will approach you at some of the stops. Dunn falls is beautiful, but I would definitely not try to climb them. Go to the bottom and take picks at the falls on the beach. He took us to a local restaurant some could enjoy beefatties, that were out of this world. He even ran to the store for my hubby who needed crazy glue to fix. His CPAP mask that got broken on the flight down. The trip is cheaper than the cruise line excursion. I had a nice experience with Jaital. As far as the website, I was a little confused at first when selecting my tour time because I did not know what local time was as compared to ship\'s time. But a quick phone call to Jaital and it was cleared up. My driver was excellent. He met us right at the gate and took us to the van. We went on the highlight tour then he jetted us off to Dunn River Falls where he took care of our admission and we went right in - that was a really nice bonus that we didn\'t have to wait in line for tickets. We met right back at the spot he told us to and were back on our way to the pier. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. I want to thank you for assisting my family with the tour in Ocho Rios last week. It was a wonderful experience for everyone. From the time we docked in Ocho Rios until the very end of the tour, it was phenomenal. I must also say that the lunch on the beach was very tasty. Everyone enjoyed it. Although we did love the beach, the Coyaba Gardens was an awesome experience. We loved every minute of the nature walk and waterfall tour. In addition, none of this experience would have been possible without our tour driver Cameron. He was excellent. He provided tons of history and kept us laughing the entire time. We booked this travel group from the united states for a family reunion and despite travelling 2000 miles with a group of over 30 people the service we were offered made the whole experience a breeze. The corporate office in ny handled all of our reservations efficiently and answered all if our questions along the way. Once we arrived at the cruise port we were greeted by Alphonso who was extremely helpful and personified the Jamaican happy go lucky spirit that we loved. He made sure that all 30 of us were aware of the schedule and introduced us to two great guides for the day. Sylvan and Cameron gave us a first class guided tour and gave us all a solid overview of our surroundings. They even gave us a history lesson about where we were. Lastly at the end of the tour we met back up with Alphonso at the markets and all 3 of the jaital reps showed us the best markets and restaurants in the area.
