Tour Description:
Hol Chan Marine Reserve is one of the most popular dive sites in the Caribbean. The entire reserve focuses on a cut through the reef. The "cut" is just a little more than 25 yards wide and 30 feet deep. Hole Chan is home to over 160 species of fish, 40 species of corals, 5 sponges, 8 algaes, 2 seagrasses, 3 marine mammals and 3 species of sea turtle. Your guide will pass out all of the snorkel gear and show you how to use it before leading you on a guided snorkel of the Hol Chan "cut".
Hop back aboard your boat for a quick ride over to Shark Ray Alley, a shallow channel in the reef where these two bottom feeders are found in abundance. Swim among gentle stingrays, with wingspans up to 4 feet (1.2 meters), as well as harmless brown nurse sharks that can reach lengths of more than 9 feet (2.75 meters).
When your snorkeling is completed, you will have a beach break on Caye Caulker before returning to your Belize tender pier.
